Pair of Antique Cut Steel Earrings
Circa. 1850                    France
A pair of unique and wonderful pair of french mid-19th century cut steel earrings.  We have replaced the damaged ear wires with new sterling silver wires.   The pair look like bananas on the stem!    Super brilliant......no rust      All original.... except for the new replaced sterling silver ear wires.  Sometimes the master craftsmen would create a whimsical pair.......such as these bananas!   The craftsmanship may be even more intense than a more conventional pair and were greatly appreciated by the public.
This pair could be worn to a ball.....or to a sporting event.     The pair has all the "bells and whistles" of the fine, more conventional antique cut steel earrings.   Exceptionally light; so more comfortable to wear than many others.
Each earring measures 3 1/4 inches long with ear wire      Width is 1/2 inch, at their widest       Weight for the pair is 14.3 g.     9.2 dwt
