Antique French Silver and Marcasite Hand Painted Oval Pierced Earrings

Description

Antique French silver filigree marcasite framed hand painted earrings. Featuring intricate marcasite studded silver filigree frames with oval paintings of a young woman in a blue dress in the center. The painting appears to be on a thin piece of bone. Some of the paint on her face and head has worn off though. The backs of the earrings are equally lovely with engraved floral designs. The are marked, "Made in France."
The center pieces can be removed by popping out the silver frame. The inside of the frames are numbered "244" and "245". They are not marked for their silver content but tested as at least sterling silver.
The silver frames are in excellent condition with all of the marcasites intact.
