Boston Five Bancorp, Inc. was the holding company for the Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, FSB a federally-chartered stock savings bank. The Bank operated 23 full-service branch offices in eastern Massachusetts and 15 loan offices in five New England states. The Citizens Financial Group acquired the Boston Five in 1993. The Boston Five is now run under the Citizens Bank moniker. Citizens is wholly-owned by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
